A great proportion of the residents of Glen Ellyn could very likely be hideous demons. I say this because they can come and go from their homes without ever being seen. All you can tell is that some figure dwells in those opulent mansions.

In the morning I see them pull out of their attached garages and then ten hours later the return to the same garage. The door closes before they get out of their cars. Their windows are tinted so you can see them driving.

On weekends a team of minorities arrives at their homes to perform landscaping and do regular maintenance to the home. The service is prepaid so the residents don't come out when the jobs are finished.

Various times over the week I see a grocery delivery service drop packages off by their doorways, but those deliveries only come at night when you can't see the residents retrieve the packages.

Maybe they are allergic to the sun. Maybe they have social anxiety. All I know is that no human being is ever seen living in those mansions.

Months and years can pass without ever actually seeing these home owners, even if you are a neighbor. Eight foot tall fences surround their properties, trees and bushes line the borders, all providing privacy from curious eyes.

Why do these people go to such lengths to ensure privacy? The signs point to something hideous at work here.

People come to visit but are greeted by a maid or servant and told that the owner is incapacitated and that they can relay any message the visitor may wish to send. These odd intrigues slowly become forgotten by most neighbors, dismissed as trivialities. The mystery remains strong in the youth of the neighborhood and every year they try to catch a glimpse of the residence. One Halloween night a group of children succeeded...
